"The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences is the largest organisation of broadcasters in the world with over 500 members from nearly 70 countries. Every year, the International Emmy Awards recognize excellence in programming produced outside of the United States. These awards celebrate the emergence of this important platform that encompasses TV, film, internet, mobile and home entertainment. This is the first ever Emmy Awards Ceremony held outside of the United States and the winners will be announced in Cannes at a black-tie Gala Ceremony, on Wednesday, April 5, 2006. Roger Bart (Desperate Housewives) will host the Ceremony."
* Best Interactive Television Program: for television programming that has been enhanced with interactive content.
* Best Interactive Channel: for a non-linear channel that is available to the viewer on a 24/7 basis accessible through their television which allows the viewer to interact and engage with content on their television screen.
* Best Interactive Television Service: for a television service that allows users to access multiple video, audio, data and interactive applications.
* Pioneer Prize. This is not an Emmy, but rather a special initiative of the Academy that will honour an industry personality for innovative contributions to the field of interactive television.
